A huge orange triangle with its three lights, nicknamed the “Dorito,” was seen over England in early December. One person who saw it says, “It was weird because it wasn’t making any noise?We all saw this big thing with lights in the sky.”

The Dec. 11th edition of Britain?s Express & Star quotes another observer, who reported seeing three orange lights, as saying, “At first I thought it was three planes flying in formation but the lights were far too close together. I’m sure we’re not alone in the universe.”

The past six months have been the most astonishing period of change in the whole history of the UFO phenomenon. Not since the early fifties have there been so many and such extensive sightings, and never with such a level of official support for the reality of the phenomenon.

To just touch on a few highlights, there have been extensive sightings in many parts of the world, with large numbers of reports out of the UK and, especially, Iran. The United States has had the extraordinary O’Hare Airport sighting, among others.

A UFO fell to earth in Saudi Arabia last week, that witnesses described as saucer-shaped and radiating light. When it fell, it sent shock waves through the area and frightened nearby cattle. People ran away from it and watched from a distance. The Saudi military says it could be a spy plane.

Abdul Rahman Al-Osaimi, governor of Arraith, who went to the area where the object fell, says, “The object is not big, but it scares people.” Local resident Salman Al-Raithy says he saw the object flying at a low altitude before it fell to the ground.

From the first, the UFO question has been shrouded in secrecy. Some blame the US government for this, and that isn’t wrong. But it is also true that whatever is behind this phenomenon is also extremely secretive and careful. However, a close examination of the phenomenon reveals that there has been a slow, steady process of accumulation of experience in our culture, that has led more and more people to believe that UFOs are somehow real.

This belief, which used to mark a person as mentally suspect, is now considered perfectly acceptable and ordinary. At the same time, UFO encounters are becoming more intimate and more complex.
