Climate is changing fire patterns in the west in a way that could increase the frequency of large fires in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem to a point that sparks dramatic shifts in the vegetation there.

Thanks to Linda Moulton Howe and Earthfiles.com, we have received an excellent video of a strange object that comes down from the sky, loops over land, then goes back up. It was taken by the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport Tower Cam, and is definitley not a special effect.

New research suggests that long-term exposure to air pollution can lead to physical changes in the brain, as well as learning and memory problems and even depression. While other studies have shown the damaging effects of polluted air on the heart and lungs, this is one of the first studies to show the negative impact on the brain.
