Probably just me, but I have a sense of some sort of new connection happening to us. If we come to know for certain that there is life out there, it’s going to change us in very deep ways. I have no particular reason to think that this is about to happen, but my emotions seem suddenly primed for it. Why, I don’t know.

What this may be is anybody’s guess. It is difficult to believe that an enormous object like this could be in our solar system without causing profound disruptions, not to mention a sensation among astronomers. What aren’t we seeing here?

My wife miscarried once. I guess under this law, she would have been charged with murder in Georgia. Even by introducing this contemptible bill, its author, State Representative Bobby Franklin, is displaying cruel insensitivity to the feelings of women who have lost babies in this way.
