A tourist from Scotland has recently taken a photograph of a mysterious sea creature, while visiting a cave in Corfu, Greece. The photograph has so far baffled experts, whom are unable to identify the creature.

The photographer, Harvey Robertson, had held his camera over the side of the boat, during a boat cruise in a sea cave, to get a picture of the water. He was unable to see what the camera was taking a picture of until he pulled the camera back in, of which revealed the image of the cryptic creature.

Ancient legends of sea monsters attacking ships abound, but to date these tales remain fixed firmly in the realms of fantasy.

Yet do the depths of our oceans still hide these mythical creatures, or is our changing climate allowing new creatures to evolve?

Recent reports from New Zealand describe a massive sea creature that was seen in Oke Bay, in North Island. A Google Earth image captured a huge and unidentified wake in the clear blue waters of the beautiful bay qt 11.30am on January 30th. The image was discovered by engineer Pita Witehira who was researching the images for a holiday home.

The Loch Ness Monster is one of the most enduring legends of Scotland, bringing thousands of visitors to the country each year. A strange fate may have befallen our favourite cryptid, however, as there have not been any sightings of her since 2012.

It is claimed that one of the first recorded sightings of "Nessie," as the monster is affectionately known, was made by St. Columba in A.D. 565 when the saint scared away a huge aquatic beast that was preparing to attack a man in the Ness River, which flows into the lake. This tale has been thought by many, however, to be an allegorical story depicting the power of God overcoming the evil of Satan.
