In a dramatic press release, chemtrails expert Will Thomas claims that an anonymous interview obtained by a freelance reporter proves that the US government is engaging in a massive weather modification effort using US Air Force tankers that are spraying particulate matter over wide areas at high altitude.

Thomas reports that an FAS official in charge of air traffic control over the northeastern U.S. has confirmed that there is an ongoing military operation taking place in our skies. The air traffic controller, whom Thomas calls ?Deep Sky,? gave freelance reporter S.T. Brendt an interview in which she claims she was told at least 4 times to reroute commercial airplanes around military aircraft that were taking part in a secret operation over the northeastern seaboard.

Speaking on condition of strict anonymity, ?Deep Sky? expressed concern over the classified nature of military operations that were repeatedly conducted at altitudes between 37,000 and 40,000 feet. While traffic controllers usually ignore air traffic above 10,000 feet, he was ordered to divert incoming European air traffic away from the military planes. ?I was told there was a military exercise in the area,? he said. ?Of course, they wouldn?t give me any of the particulars.?

The disclosure came on March 12, as mass aerial maneuvers saturated the northeastern U.S. skies with the X?s, circular patterns and parallel lines that are characteristic of Chemtrail activity reported by pilots, police officers and former military personnel.

?Deep Sky? reportedly stated that the chemicals sprayed on March 12 showed up as a ?haze? on Air Traffic Controller radar scopes, but when asked if this posed a threat to air safety replied, ?not from my perspective.? He said that similar military activities were carried out ?on other dates? and in ?other regions? in the U.S. When asked whether U.S. Air Force jets crossed into Canadian air space, he replied ?yes.?

In December 2000, Canadian aviation authority Terry Stewart investigated a complaint of intensive Chemtrail activity over Victoria, the capitol of British Columbia. In a taped message, the environmental manager for the Victoria International Airport checked with the control tower and reported, ?It?s a military exercise, U.S. and Canadian air force exercise that?s going on. They wouldn?t give specifics on it.?

A patent issued to Hughes Aircraft Company in 1991 calls for spreading a ?sunscreen? of aluminum particles to reduce global warming by reflecting one percent of incoming sunlight. Edward Teller, the inventor of the hydrogen bomb, proposed similar reflective spraying in January 2001, saying ?The simplest plan is to put into the high atmosphere small particles that scatter away one or two percent of the sunlight.?

Computer simulations carried out by Teller?s colleague, geophysicist Ken Caldeira, at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, showed that an anticipated doubling of atmospheric carbon dioxide over the next 50 years would result in no net warming across the globe if the spraying program proposed by Teller was carried out. But Caldeira warned a recent gathering of geophysicists that the sky shield could cool the upper stratosphere and ?destroy the ozone layer.?

Chemtrails are believed to contain barium and tiny particles of aluminum. Such a mixture would increase the reflectivity of the atmosphere and reduce the amount of sunlight reaching the surface. Inert aluminum is not considered to be a human health risk, but there are established limits for safe ingestion of powdered aluminum, as small, talcum-fine particulates are quick to lodge in human lungs and can cause respiratory distress. The particles could also act as nuclei around which clouds could form, leading to heavy rains and snowstorms.

There have been reports of flu-like symptoms, respiratory problems and nosebleeds in areas with heavy Chemtrail cover. Whether or not they can be linked to the spraying?or if there has actually been any spraying?has not yet been definitively determined.

Unknowncountry.com is in receipt of dozens of claims of unusual contrail activity all over the world, and researchers like Thomas and Clifford Carnicom have far more.

These terrifying stories are in urgent need of clarification. So far, the general media has ignored the chemtrails issue almost entirely, except for a few ‘silly season’ stories, such as the one that appeared in the March 7, 2001 issue of USA Today.
