A month ago, the discovery of an extremely strange virus was found in Chile. Now a strange and magnificent web has been discovered in the Amazon basin, possibly the most intricate and beautifully engineered web ever found. Norman Platnick, an arachnologist and Peter J. Solomon Family Curator of the invertebrate zoology department of the American Museum of Natural History, told Live Science "I have no idea what animal made that."

The structure is centered on a graceful tower that is held up by delicate web ‘ropes,’ elegantly cantilevered. It is surrounded by stakes made of thickened web and further protected by web fencing. The central structure appears to be an egg casing.

Recently a UFO photographed over Phoenix was found to be a high flying NASA research balloon. This looks like something similar, but has nothing of the appearance of the NASA balloon. Could it be an amateur effort to create a UFO, or are research balloons becoming more common? It appears to morph into a rocket-like shape, complete with an exhaust glow. There is enough strangeness here to warrant a look.

The government-backed French and Chilean UFO study groups have formally agreed to co-operate on UFO research. Both countries have long had a policy of openness regarding the UFO question, and now an agreement has been reached to share information and resources to further understanding of the UFO mystery.read more

While the northern hemisphere bakes, burns and floods, climate extremes of a different sort are striking far to the south. It’s deep winter in Peru now, and the southern part of the country has just experienced a record snowfall that has brought activity to a halt, killed tens of thousands of cattle and at least four people. This type of climate extreme is becoming more common, especially as reduced solar output causes cooling while increasing greenhouse gases cause more heat to build up in areas where the sun is strongest.
