It’s been discovered that DNA can travel on a meteorite, meaning that life on Earth could have been seeded from another planet–maybe even Mars. If that’s the case, we don’t need to look for life on Mars–we’re looking at it every time we see another human being!
On the MSNBC website, Charles Q. Choi quotes chemist Jim Cleaves as saying, "People have been finding nucleobases in meteorites for about 50 years now, and have been trying to figure out if they are of biological origin or not."
In order to figure out if any nucleobases seen in meteorites are of extraterrestrial origin, scientists analyzed a dozen meteorites–"11 organic-rich meteorites called carbonaceous chondrites and one ureilite, a very rare type of meteorite with a different chemical composition. "Two of the carbonaceous chondrites contained a diverse array of nucleobases and structurally similar compounds known as nucleobase analogs. Three of these nucleobase analogs are very rare in Earth biology, and were not found in soil and ice samples from the areas near where the meteorites were collected at the parts-per-billion limits of their detection techniques."
Choi quotes Cleaves as saying, "Finding nucleobase compounds not typically found in Earth’s biochemistry strongly supports an extraterrestrial origin." He quotes NASA’s George Cooper as saying, "It is always exciting to find extraterrestrial and ancient 4.6 billion-year-old organic compounds that might have had a role in early life." He quotes astrobiologist Michael Callahan as saying, "All this has implications for the origins of life on Earth and potentially elsewhere."
In 1998, a mysterious man that Whitley Strieber calls the Master of the Key burst into his hotel room in Toronto and told him all kinds of things he didn’t know–but when he checked them out later, he found out they were TRUE. The new, UNCENSORED edition of The Key, with a foreword that talks about how many of his statements later turned out to be true, is in bookstores NOW–and you can also get it, along with a beautiful autographed bookplate, from the Whitley Strieber Collection. One of the few things that Whitley could NOT check out was MOTKE’s provocative statement that we are stuck on this planet because the parents of the child who would have given us the ability to travel into space was killed in the holocaust!
