Last December’s revelation that the Department of Defense funded an in-house investigation into the UFO phenomenon continues to hold the interest of representatives in Washington, with yet another lawmaker saying that a congressional investigation should be conducted to determine the nature of the exotic, unexplained objects that continue to be spotted by professional observers. This new call for an investigation came from Ami Bera (Democrat, California), and was seconded by both Randy Hultgren (Republican, Illinois) and Mary Lynne Dittmar.

Another sizable asteroid has made a close pass to Earth on May 15, making 2010 WC9 the 35th object to pass within one lunar distance in 2018 alone, and the 17th to have passed within one-half of the distance between the Earth and the Moon. Thankfully, this object wasn’t big enough–or traveling fast enough for that matter–to cause any major damage to the Earth if it had actually hit us. A comprehensive examination of the ground surrounding the tomb of Tutankhamun has found no evidence of undiscovered secret chambers, disappointing those hoping to uncover the still-undiscovered resting place of  the young pharaoh’s mother, Queen Nefertiti.

Hints that hidden passages might exist behind the walls of Tutankhamun’s tomb first surfaced in 2015, when inconsistencies in the tomb’s walls were revealed in high-resolution 3D scans made by Madrid-based conservation group Factum Arte. These inconsistencies led Egyptologist Nicholas Reeves to believe that they were caused by a series of hidden chambers, covered up by the plaster and murals lining The Boy King’s tomb. read more
