From Scotland comes a report on Sept 19 that red lights were seen over Cairneyhill, and from Croatia 2 nights earlier that a similar phenomenon appeared in Rijeka. The Scottish report specifically states that they did not appear to be sky lanterns. The Croatian report is less specific.

Some people say marriage makes you fat, while others say it trims you down. It turns out BOTH are right.

According to a new study, both marriage and divorce can act as "weight shocks," leading people to add a few extra pounds– especially among those over age 30.

But when it comes to large weight gains, the effects of marital transitions are quite different for men than they are for women. For men, the risk of a large weight gain increased most prominently after a divorce. But for women, the risk of a large weight gain was most likely after marriage.

Oceanographers have returned from a trip to examine the scope and size of this year’s "dead zone" in the Gulf of Mexico and have measured it currently to be about 3,300 square miles, or about the size of Delaware and Rhode Island combined. Some researchers anticipate it becoming much larger.
