Do international governments expect contact to take place soon? Well, the UN has appointed a special ambassador in case it does!

Malaysian astrophysicist Mazlan Othman, head of the UN’s Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), says that the recent discovery of hundreds of planets around other stars has made the detection of extraterrestrial life more likely than ever before, meaning the UN must be ready to coordinate humanity’s response to any “first contact.” Let’s hope that THIS TIME we talk FIRST (instead of shooting first).

The Australian news website news.com quotes Othman as saying, “The continued search for extraterrestrial communication, by several entities, sustains the hope that some day humankind will receive signals from extraterrestrials. When we do, we should have in place a coordinated response that takes into account all the sensitivities related to the subject. The UN is a ready-made mechanism for such coordination.”

News.com quotes space law expert Richard Crowther as saying, “Othman is absolutely the nearest thing we have to a ‘take me to your leader’ person.”

Scientists have it all wrong: Why don’t they talk to some of the people who are ALREADY in contact? Anne Strieber has: She’s started a series of special interviews about UFO contact just for subscribers, with abductees and experiencers, so if you want to know what contact is REALLY LIKE, don’t miss this incredible group of interviews!
