In this first of what will be many discussions of A New World, Whitley talks about the two different ways of viewing the world that are explored in the book, which he calls "input strategy" and "output strategy." He believes that our visitors, or most of them, see the world via an "input strategy," which would explain why we have so much difficulty communicating with them. He tells of two instances where people have seen the world in this way, and explains why he thinks that this may be the way most of our visitors see it.

It's an enlightening discussion and characteristically of Whitley, full of fun, too!
