I thought I would like to write a little bit about Dreamland. First, to thank everybody who listens. Second, to say that all the e-mail is really very welcome. But remember that we get about 5,000 e-mails a month, so we can’t answer everybody. Also, we are finding that e-mail is not instantaneous, so questions for the show are coming a little late sometimes.
Keith is working on this. He hopes to have a system up on the website that will enable something close to instant messaging. You’d think that we could use AOL Instant Messaging, but the problem is that each new message will pop up a new window on my computer in the studio, which will not work.
Some of you have noticed that the chat section on the website is actually not an open chatroom. You need to identify yourself to us before entering. This makes for a much smoother and better dialog, and prevents some of the problems I had when I had open chatrooms on the old Communion site.
When I first started hosting Coast, I was on in about four markets as a test. The mike was open and I began broadcasting. About fifteen minutes later, I was done for the night. I’d used up all my material. Time to go home. Trouble was, there were still four hours and forty-five minutes left in the show. I wanted to jump up and run out of there! But I couldn’t; I had committed to do this. I knew what Art was going through, which few people did at the time, and I was highly motivated to help him in any way I could. Anyway, I’ve always wanted to be in radio. Ever since I was a child listening to The Shadow and Fibber McGee and Molly in the evenings, I have loved the medium.
It took a while to get used to it, but now when I get to my mike, I feel like I can deliver a show. Anne has really gotten into it as well, and she is finding lots of great topics and people. But please bear in mind that the fact that we put somebody on doesn’t mean that we necessarily agree with them. We put them on because they’re interesting. Like Bob Felix on the March 19 show-I don’t know that I agree with him that the world is actually getting colder, not when all the statistics say the opposite. But he has a fascinating theory and I really enjoyed learning about it.
We have been looking over past shows and trying to determine which ones you’ve enjoyed most. Steven Sora’s Lost Treasure of the Knights Templar was very popular, as was Michael Hesemann’s UFO’s: A Secret History. And Robert Anton Wilson, and the the Giza Power Plant. There was also a strong response to Dr. John Mack and to the show on gene- altered foods.
So it looks like you have a pretty broad range of interests, and we are going to be moving in all sorts of new directions as a result. I want to take another look at Flight 800, for example. The New York Observer has been running a series of articles that poke holes in the official story, and some of these holes are quite serious. This is not over. It needs to be looked into. I also want to see if we can find out if children were used in MK-ULTRA experiments.
There is no question about the fact that MK-ULTRA existed. There were court cases and news stories, there were people paid damages by the federal government, and CIA officers who were fired. However, there was also a substantial amount of MK-ULTRA material held back. Given my last journal entry, I wonder if I might not have been among the victims of this program? Whether I was or not, I think that the public has a right to know if children were abused in MK-ULTRA. I am going to explore this on-air.
Also, I want to see if we can come to any conclusions about the human past. It is obvious to anybody who studies archaeology that there are too many unexplained ruins on this old earth of ours for us to conclude that the story of the past is complete. When we were researching Superstorm, we came across all kinds of loose threads. Fascinating stuff. I have a feeling that we have lost a huge amount of knowledge about who and what we are, and what we once had. We’re going to explore that much more deeply.
So that’s where I am right now with Dreamland–looking forward to Sunday nights, and trying to see if we can work together to shine light into all the dark corners.
