Is the UFO contact experience connected to the mythic faerie realm? Author Joshua Cutchin has written extensively on these overlapping subjects. Is an ancient folklore still alive today, welling up in the modern close encounter experience?

Joshua has had a lifelong interest in the paranormal, and holds a Masters in Music Literature and a Masters in Journalism from the University of Georgia. He is the author of three fascinating books: A Trojan Feast (2015), The Brimstone Deceit (2016), and Thieves in the Night (2018).

Joshua was also a contributor to Robbie Graham’s 2017 collection of ufological essays UFOs: Reframing the Debate, as well as David Weatherly‘s 2018 Sasquatch collection Wood Knocks: Volume 3.

Cutchin is also a published composer and maintains an active performing schedule as a jazz and rock tuba player! He currently resides in the small town of Roswell (not “that” one, he lives in the one in Georgia). His website is JoshuaCutchin.com.

In this interview Mike references two amazing events that were detailed on his blog. One was a very strange sighting of something in the sky on the way to a UFO conference (linked HERE), and bending forks with Joshua (linked HERE).

  1. Say Mike, I liked the interview. It was good stuff, very informal and not stiff.
    It was mentioned that certain bright colors, red & green, seem to insult the fae folk. I recall a story of some folk going to some remote place in indonesia. the story was about the Gin. supposedly, the locals wouldnt go into the jungle without wearing only black. If I recall correctly, someone was wearing bright colored socks and either got bit or was dragged off by some fast-moving creature… round head and an oversized mouth full of teeth. Its shape was a small stature humanoid.
    Again, great show. Thanks Joshua Cutchin

  2. The clearer things are and the more simple they have become, the more difficult they are to explain

    Hello Joshua Cutchin, The role of symbolism, ”food and drink” and the folklore, ”if you take food and drink with the faeries you are doomed to stay with them forever”.

    One of the major stumbling blocks of a person is their belief that they are the body image {matter} they see before a mirror. And that belief is solidified by the association with all the others thought to be out-side their material self-image. This perception of associations, we call the world. And this world, which is ever changing i.e in constant motion, we call Reality. For how could it be otherwise, ” I ” exist. ” I ” is the center of its world, its being. ”But”, who is this ” I ”, really, that is in constant motion i.e always changing?

    Nature of quantum mechanical phenomena, the double-slit experiment defined as waves and particles; The experiment belongs to a general class of “double path” experiments, in which a wave is split into two separate waves that later combine into a single wave. Changes in the path lengths of both waves result in a phase shift, creating an interference pattern. {an interference pattern is analogous to a human ”person”ality i.e a single ” I ” that is split into two ”relative” i’s that ”thinks” it exists in a subject-object world {creation} i.e me, the I, subject, and the world of MANY i’s, the object}

    By analogy, the wave is the ” I ” that splits into I – I i.e becomes a particle among particles. The irony is the ” I ” does not come into existence until it observes its ”self”. In other words, the ” I ” re-flects its ”self” as I – I. One appears to become two. This is the mystery of the Trinity.

    Wholeness. Robert Lawlor explains it simply Phi, the Golden Proportion, is the unique division which fulfills this characteristic: 1/phi + 1/phi squ’d = 1. This completes the mathematical metaphor for the Trinity: ‘Three that are Two that are One’. It is the ultimate reduction of proportional thought to the causal singularity. from Robert Lawlor book “Sacred Geometry”

    1 divided by 1.618 = 0.61804697156 divided by 0.61804697156 = 1
    Here we have the root of a as equal to the root of b , so that a and b are in relationship to one another as a root is to a square. This necessitates that as the third term in the geometric proportion, a+ b = 1 must in this case be a square plus its root = 1. PHI is the unique division which fulfills this characteristic: I/phi + 1/phi sq’d = 1. This completes the mathematical metaphor for the Trinity: ‘Three that are Two that are One’. It is the ultimate reduction of proportional thought to the causal singularity. – “Sacred Geometry” by Robert Lawlor

    So, what is my point? It is human beings are a ”re”flecting inversion of Aware-ness, the Infinite, Absolute, Original, Single ” I ”. In other words, the ”Original” food and drink, is the being, seeing of Conscious Aware-ness. The material image is a interference pattern i.e a relative ”re”flecting ‘ I ‘ that is given a name at the moment of the birth of a material body, at the seeing {birth} of an image

    “The source of consciousness can-not be an object in consciousness” – Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

    “What you are looking for is what is looking” – St Francis of Assisi

    “In the beginning, middle and at the end everything is simple, Of course to say this, appears foolish” – physicist Nobel Laureate Erwin Schroedinger (1887–1961)

    “Consciousness is a singular {Whole} of which the plural {relative} is unknown. There is only one thing {Whole}, and that which seems to be a plurality {relative} is merely a series of different aspects of this one {Whole} thing, produced by a deception {“re”flection}… as in a gallery of mirrors {selves}” – Erwin Schrödinger

    “The Light {Truth} of the body is the eye, ” I “. If therefore, thine eye, ” I “, be single, they whole body shall be full of Light {Truth}” Mathew 6:22

    “Be As You Are” – Ramana Maharshi – “You want, somehow or other, to maintain that the world is real. What is the standard of reality? That alone is Real which exists by itself, which reveals itself by itself, and which is eternal and unchanging”

    “Both Light and matter are a single entity, and the apparent duality arises in the limitations of our language” – Werner Heisenberg {also, in our seeing i.e thoughts. Why? because we are ignorant as to the origin of Being}

    “There is a fundamental error in separating the parts from the whole, the mistake of atomizing what should not be atomized. Unity and complementarity constitute reality” – Werner Heisenberg

    “The reality we can put into words is never reality itself” – Werner Heisenberg

    “The essence of the Original Mind can never be expressed in words” – Ch’an Truth

    “The Tao that can be named is not the True Tao” – Lao Tzu

    “Reality is that which refuses to go away when I stop believing in it” – Philip K. Dick

    Socrates said, `I know that I do not know’ {knowing ones ignorance is wisdom}

  3. This is a great discussion… Thanks.

    I was just thinking about the symbolism side of communication from this phenomena and comparing it to the way our own unconscious mind communicates with us in the form of dreams… And the fact that sometimes people recount encounters with beings as a kind of dream-like experience. I wonder if there’s a connection…that perhaps these encounters are a manifestation of our own (collective?) unconscious into waking reality…I’m not talking about hallucinations here but a symbolic, I don’t know what…energy maybe… Or in quantum physics speak, perhaps you could call it a waveform that collapses into reality when observed by our conscious mind… And that this internal collapsing, or observation can be experienced differently by different people because that observation depends on their own experience, or expectation, or interpretation of that symbolic energy.

    I hope that rambling made sense… it was just off the top of my head. I’m sure I haven’t said anything new… I’m just trying to figure out the…er…unfiguroutable!

  4. The part where you speak of smells, scents, and odors rings true with my ET experiences.

    I remember the inside of the craft smelling of ozone.
    I learned this years ago on a UFO message board when I stated the craft smelled similar to the toy electric railroad sets I played with as a child. A person responded to me and told me the smell was ozone produced by the toy trains.

    The begins I encountered also had a floral scent mixed with a smell of ozone .

    Very interesting!
