Does Nature think the Earth is overpopulated? Because a "natural" form of birth control is going on right now: A new study of 26,000 men shows that between 1989 and 2005, average sperm counts fell by a third, increasing their risk of infertility.
The decline occurred progressively throughout the 17-year period, meaning that it could still be going on. In fact, in 2011, the US birth rate was the lowest ever recorded, led by a large decrease in births to immigrant women.
Other research over the last 20 years has shown that sperm counts are declining in many countries. The reason isn’t known, but possible explanations have ranged from tight underwear to estrogenic toxins in the environment.

In the August 16th edition of the Los Angeles Times, Edmund Sanders quotes Israeli researcher Ruth Har-Nir, who runs a sperm bank, as saying, "Under no circumstances can we accept sperm of this quality." She has noticed problems with Israeli sperm for a decade and says, "This is the trend.

There are lot more Danes around that you think?Danish genes that is. Cyros International, the world’s biggest sperm bank, is located in Denmark and has just opened a branch in New York City.
Elinor Schang writes in Reuters that Cyros has three donation centers in Denmark and donors, mostly students, are paid $40.50 for each donation. However, only about 10% of the donations are of high enough quality to be used.
On the Cyros website, childless couples can look at photos of about 250 donors (listed under aliases) so they can find someone who looks like them. Soon Cyros will accept donations from Indian, Asian and African men.
