Further controversy surrounds the legendary Eisenhower Briefing Document (EBD), as a copy the MJ-12 Document has been found inside a declassified Department of Defense File.

The paper was renowned for allegedly providing proof that President Dwight Eisenhower was supplied with an overview of the situation regarding extra-terrestrial contact at the time of his accession to the White House. The authenticity of the document has always been in question, but this latest find has added to the ongoing debate.

In Wired.com, David Kravets describes a Freedom of Information Act request made by Jeffrey Richelson, to which he received this reply from the agency’s information and privacy coordinator, Susan Viscuso: "We completed a thorough search for records responsive to your request and located material that we determined is currently and properly classified and must be denied in its entirety."

Reynolds provides the basis for asserting that there are “military matters which, in the interest of national security, should not be divulged,” even to a federal court and is one of the foundations of government secrecy. Now it turns out that the government documents that influenced that ruling were fraudulent.
