Last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Washington and former Mossad Chief Meier Dagan appeared on 60 Minutes to warn that war with Iran would be a mistake. Meanwhile, it has been pointed out by numerous commentators that no country which has acquired nuclear weapons since World War II has used them, and that nuclear arsenals are instruments of peace rather than war, because the prospect of mutually assured destruction enforces stalemate. The prime examples cited are the US and the USSR, which never actually fought a nuclear conflict, and Pakistan and India, which fought three wars prior to acquiring nuclear weapons, and have not fought since.

When 32-year-old chemist Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan was killed by a someone on a motorcycle who placed a bomb on his car, then sped off, it was the 5th time in two years that a scientist from the Iranian nuclear program had been assassinated by someone on a motorcycle. This may have been done before: Groups of microbiologists mysteriously died years ago.

Secret attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities may be under way by Israel. Israeli officials said in a recent report that a "mysterious explosion" two days ago at an Iranian nuclear facility was "no accident." Satellite images show smoke coming from an Iranian uranium enrichment facility.

We talked about this three years ago, and now it’s being discussed again–this time officially. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to rally support in his cabinet for an attack on Iran, and defense minister Ehud Barak and foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman are said to be among those backing a pre-emptive strike to neutralize Iran’s nuclear facilities, since one of the first uses of any bomb they make is likely to be an attack on Israel.
