CBS New York reported that on December 13, 2024, the New York Stewart International Airport was temporarily shut down due to a drone sighted in the surrounding airspace. It is interesting to note that this airport, located in the Hudson Valley, is a joint public/military airport.
This is just one of many recent incidents of anomalous aircraft being sighted in the New Jersey/New York area. Jessica Moore of CBS New York reported that recent sightings of drones of unknown origin have been increasing over the past two weeks. She reported that over 3,000 sightings have been reported in the New Jersey area, so far.
The day before the New York sighting, residents in Boston reported seeing drones over the Boston Harbor near the JFK library.
CBS Boston’s Ken Macleod reported that residents reported seeing drones with lights that flashed from red, to green, to blue.
