Another triangle, low and slow.

In his novel the Grays, Whitley Strieber describes in great detail a US spy plane called the TR that flies low and slow just like these triangles that keep showing up in the middle south and midwest. So, is this a US craft or not? He says that his TR is fiction. I wonder.
