The following story is the latest in a continuing series of “Pravda” stories about UFOs: The collapse of the Chernobyl nuclear plant on April 26, 1986 sent dangerous levels of radiation into Eastern Europe. But it could have been worse: there could have been a nuclear blast that wiped out much of Europe. There are persistent stories that the world was saved by UFOs. When the Chernobyl events started to occur, witnesses saw a UFO hovering above the fourth generating unit of the Chernobyl plant. Eyewitnesses say it was there for six hours and that hundreds of people saw it. Mikhail Varitsky says, “I and other people from my team went to the site of the blast at night. We saw a ball of fire, and it was slowly flying in the sky. I think the ball was six or eight meters in diameter. Then, we saw two rays of crimson light stretching towards the fourth unit. The object was some 300 meters from the reactor. The event lasted for about three minutes. The lights of the object went out and it flew away in the northwestern direction.” He believes the UFO brought the radiation level down and prevented a nuclear blast.

Three years later, on September 16, 1989, the fourth power-generating unit emitted radiation into the atmosphere. Several hours later, a doctor saw an object in the sky above the Chernobyl plant. Doctor Gospina described it as “amber-like? and said she could see the top and the bottom of it clearly. In October of 1990, V Navran, a reporter from the newspaper ?Echo of Chernobyl,” was photographing the machine shop of the Chernobyl plant. He says, “I photographed the top of it, including a part of the hole above. I remember everything very well; I did not see any UFO. However, when I developed the film, I clearly saw an object that was hovering above the hole in the roof.” The object looked like the UFO Gospina saw.

During the past weeks, we have brought you a series of seemingly serious UFO articles, mostly from the Russian newspaper ?Pravda.? When we questioned German UFO researcher Michael Hesemann about these stories on Dreamland September 7, he said that Pravda is considered to be a serious, legitimate newspaper, not a tabloid. Many of these stories are about UFO events that took place in the past, so we can only assume that the current Russian government, and/or the editors of Pravda, wish to reveal UFO information that has been kept secret in the past. Is Russia going to be the first country to reveal what it knows about UFOs?and will the U.S. be pressured to follow suit? To find out, check news every day.
