A few weeks ago, we told you that someone ELSE may own YOUR DNA. Almost every cell in your body contains a copy of your genetic code–can a private company patent it and sell it? The Supreme Court says, "no."

US authorities have been awarding patents on genes to universities and medical companies for almost 30 years, and US patents now cover about 40% of the human genome. But this may soon end, because the Supreme Court is debating this now.

On BBC News, Daniel Ravicher as saying that granting patents on genes was "morally offensive. Genes are the foundation of life, they are created by nature, not by man."

In the April 14th edition of the Wall Street Journal, Jess Bravin quotes Justice John Roberts as saying, "You don’t look at a tree and say, ‘Well, I’ve cut the branch here and cut it there and all of a sudden I’ve got a baseball bat. You have to invent it.’"

We’ve just arrived at the science of DNA, but we still have far to go: In 1998, the Master of the Key burst into Whitley Strieber’s hotel room and told him that the soul is a SCIENCE that we have yet to understand. Read all the other things MOTKE told him, with a new foreword from Whitley telling which of these predictions have COME TRUE, in the new edition of The Key.
