The mysterious object at the bottom of the Baltic Sea could be a relic from World War II placed there by the Nazis (NOTE: Subscribers can still listen to this show) in order to disrupt Soviet submarine navigation by interfering with their radar signals.

What divers are seeing may be the concrete anchor of the device, which also contained steel mesh, which would have eroded away over the years. The device is located under an important shipping route, which would have been used by the Germans to carry supplies during the war. Soviet submarines coming in from the Gulf of Finland probably tried to disrupt this.

Not all members of the investigating team agree that they’ve solved the mystery, so stay tuned for more information!

Subscribers: Sometimes the best information you can get arrives in fiction. Did you know that you can have a coupon for a hardcover copy of Whitley Strieber’s novel "Hybrids," a novel about machine men (something the Nazis would have dearly loved to employ) for less than $5?
