A recently unclassified 1998 Pentagon report reveals that our military investigated using laser beams as a method non-lethal torture, such as triggering uncontrolled neuron firing, slowly heating someone’s body until it was feverish and–scariest of all–putting voices inside people’s heads–all from a great distance. This could convince vulnerable people that they are going crazy, developing schizophrenia, etc. There is no evidence that these technologies have been developed–but then, there’s no evidence that they haven’t been, either.
In 1995, Whitley Strieber experienced an incident where two men approached a bedroom where he was taking a nap, coming up through a small yard. He heard a brutal male voice threatening to kidnap him. Furious, he rushed out onto a porch and saw two men running across the yard away from the house. They jumped into a black Ford Mustang and drove away.
In PhysOrg.com, Lisa Zyga quotes the report as saying, that "it seems possible that this technology could be developed to the point where words could be transmitted to be heard like the spoken word, except that it could only be heard within a person’s head."
