Members of the House UAP Caucus expressed their disappointment following a secured meeting with the Acting Director of AARO, w
ith Florida Representative Anna Paulina Luna remarking that the briefing was a “nothingburger.”
The April 17 meeting, held in a sensitive compartmented information facility—more commonly referred to as a SCIF—was held in regards to the results of a report released by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in March, titled Report on the Historical Record of U.S. Government Involvement with Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) Volume I. In attendance were Representatives Tim Burchett (R-TN); Eric Burlison (R-MO); Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL); and Andy Ogles (R-TN). Delivering the briefing was AARO Acting Director Tim Phillips and Director of DOD Special Access Program Central Office, Air Force Major General David Abba.
Although the details of what was discussed during the SCIF remain classified, Burchett, Luna and Ogles made no bones about what they thought of the information divulged during the briefing, with Luna outright stating that “it was a nothingburger.”
“There’s no reason any of that stuff was told in a SCIF,” remarked Burchett, implying that what Phillips and Abba had presented to them was nothing that the public wasn’t already aware of.
“Other than to get us not to talk about it,” added Ogles.
Speaking later on NewsNation, Burchett said “I think there’s a cover-up.”
“There are tens of millions of dollars that we’ve spent investigating these things,” Burchett added. “We’ve had departments tell us that they have recovery units, but they won’t release full reports. Everything’s covered up.”
“It might be the fact that it’s just plain arrogance—they don’t think we deserve it,” Burchett continued. “I can’t tell you how many conversations I’ve had with high-ranking officials that have told me that America really can’t handle this stuff. It’s not their position to tell me who or what I can handle; we’re Americans, we ought to be able to take it. Give it to us.”
