What is a blue moon and is it really blue? We’re going tohave one tomorrow so we’ll be able to see for ourselves.

A blue moon is the second full moon in a calendar month.Usually months have only one full moon, but occasionallythere’s a second one. But no one knows how these got to becalled “blue.”

It may have started in 1883, an the Krakatoa volcanoexploded in Indonesia. So much ash rose into the atmospherethat the moon looked blue. This effect lasted for severalyears afterwards. People also saw lavender suns and “suchvivid red sunsets that fire engines were called out in NewYork, Poughkeepsie, and New Haven to quench the apparentconflagration,” according to volcanologist Scott Rowland.

The moon looks blue when volcanoes spit out particles thatare slightly wider than the wavelength of red light andblock those light waves. This is rare, but it does happen.People saw blue moons a hundred years later, in 1983, afterthe eruption of the El Chichon volcano in Mexico. And therewere reports of blue moons caused by Mt. St. Helens volcanoin 1980 and Mount Pinatubo in 1991.

Forest fires can produce the blue moons as well. PhysicistSue Ann Bowling says, “On September 23, 1950, several muskegfires that had been quietly smoldering for several years inAlberta suddenly blew up into major?and very smoky?fires.Winds carried the smoke eastward and southward with unusualspeed, and the conditions of the fire produced largequantities of oily droplets of just the right size (about 1micron in diameter) to scatter red and yellow light.Wherever the smoke cleared enough so that the sun wasvisible, it was lavender or blue. Ontario and much of theeast coast of the U.S. were affected by the following day,but the smoke kept going. Two days later, observers inEngland reported an indigo sun in smoke-dimmed skies, followed by an equally blue moon that evening.”

If the fires in the western U.S. produce ash or smokecontaining many 1-micron particles, the moon could actuallylook blue on July 31st.

Now we know what a blue moon is, but what areblueapples? They’re part of a lost technology that isassociated with the powers displayed by Jesus Christ and isthe real secret of the Holy Shroud.
