Glennys MacKay, an incredible medium from Australia, contacted us suddenly by email a few weeks ago, saying she had been "called" by her spirit guides to come to the United States.

I took this opportunity to get her together with Dr. Gary Schwartz at the University of Arizona in Tucson, who conducted 4 years of research on the real Allison Dubois, who is played by actress Patricia Arquette in the TV series "Medium." He has been interviewed on Dreamland several times and is the author of The Afterlife Experiments, The Truth About Medium and the upcoming book The G.O.D. Experiments.

I’m always skeptical (that’s my role) but Glennys convinced me of her veracity when she took my hand in hers and began to read my palm. She began to cry and wept so hard that she could hardly continue, but she did come up with the name of my stepmother, who had been so cruel to me when I was a child, after my mother killed herself. While I don’t think about it much anymore, my childhood was so awful that it would make ANYONE weep, and there was no way Glennys could have known anything about it.

She also took part in an exploratory controlled scientific experiment with Dr. Schwartz, who has a long history of testing mediums. We knew Dr. Lynne Kitei, of Phoenix Lights fame, was a friend of Gary’s, but we didn’t think we were going to get a chance to see her while we were in Arizona. Gary set up a situation where Glennys sat in front of a screen, facing a video camera. We could see and hear her from a room across the hall. Behind the screen was an unseen sitter, whom she would "read." The screen was raised, so that we could see the sitter, but Glennys could not. We were amazed to see that it was our dear friend Dr. Lynne! What was even more amazing was that, unbeknownst to each other, both Glennys and Dr. Lynne were wearing the exact same colors (bright yellow and black). Both of them later said that these aren’t colors they usually wear, but they felt compelled to put them on that day.

Glennys identified the "secret sitter" as a woman and knew her name and the fact that she is a healer, as well as someone who works in the media. But that’s not all: Suddenly Glennys started getting messages from someone who, it became obvious, was the late UFO researcher and Harvard psychologist John Mack, who died in a car accident in London two years ago. The description of the being she saw was unmistakable to those of us who knew him. He gave us a message which resonated with us all. I don’t feel I can tell you this message yet, but I will reveal it sometime in the future.

Then we parted: Glennys and her group returned to Las Vegas to catch a plane back to Australia. Gary, Dr. Lynne, Whitley and I were left breathless with amazement. We’re still putting the pieces together.

My friend Jay wanted to reach his deceased sister, whom he loved very much, so I asked Glennys if she would do so, and she asked for a lock of Jay’s hair. She held it and "read" it, while I took notes furiously, then I typed them up on the computer and printed them out. I had the great privilege of taking the note to Jay and I’m sure it meant a lot to him. You don’t often get to do someone a favor like that, and I was thankful to be able to do so.

What have I learned from all this? Three words: Seize the day. When I found out Glennys had some extra time in the U.S. after the conference, I seized the opportunity to get her together with Gary. I thought that maybe I was being a little nuts, but I went ahead and did it anyway. Gary, who has a full writing and teaching schedule, nevertheless seized the opportunity to meet with Glennys.

I wanted to tell you one more thing: I wore my fearlessness necklace the whole time Glennys was here. Whether you have a REAL fearlessness necklace like I do, or just a metaphorical one, be sure to wear the armor of courage wherever you go: the courage to live life, the courage to take a chance. The courage to seize the day.
