On August 15, our lead story asked the question, Was Blackout Due to Nuke Plant Sabotage? Now Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for last week’s power blackout in the Northeast.
They claim to have hit two major power plants, but won’t reveal how they did it. Al-Qaeda says, “We heard amazing statements made by the American and Canadian enemies which have nuclear physics universities and space agencies, that lightning hit and destroyed the two plants. And we are supposed to believe this nonsense. If the blackout occurred in one or two cities, their lie would have been credible. But the fact is that the blackout hit the entire East and part of Canada.”
This sounds suspiciously like they may simply be taking credit for our outdated power grid, which would actually be a good sign, because it would mean they are no longer capable of staging terrorist attacks here in the U.S. and have to fight us in places like Iraq, where they have taken over the Sunni resistance. Defense Department spokesman Lawrence Di Rita says, “Foreign terrorists are attracted to areas where the coalition is on the offense in the global war on terror, and in Iraq we are on the offense in the global war on terror. There’s clearly an indication that foreign terrorists are involved in the kind of violence that we see here.”
The al-Qaeda communique went on to say, “The Americans ?lived a day of terror and fear? a state of chaos and confusion where looting and pillaging rampaged the cities, just like the capital of the caliphate Baghdad, and Afghanistan and Palestine were. Let the American people take a sip from the same glass.” Since there wasn’t much looting during the blackout, this increases the probability that this is a false claim?unless there was looting, but we just weren’t told about it.
It also said the strikes aimed at “hitting the major pillar of the U.S. economy (the Stock Exchange)?[and] the UN, which is opposed to Islam, and is based in New York.” The shocking thing about this is that a suicide bomber, most likely backed by al-Qaeda, did kill at least 20 people at a UN headquarters in Iraq today.
