In 1975 Raymond Moody published the great classic Life After Life and gave the world the term Near Death Experience, thus creating an extraordinary expansion of human consciousness and understanding of who and what we are. But he remained skeptical about whether or not there is a persistent afterlife. In this deeply moving and soul-freeing interview, he and his co-author Paul Perry discuss why they feel that their new book, Proof of Life After Life, offers proof that we DO persist after death.

Don’t miss this wonderful, life-affirming discussion with two of the great masters of afterlife research of our time. And, as always, our Whitley turns the discussion into a wonderful, gripping story! Joyous start to Dreamland’s 25th year of service!

  1. I just heard on this show that the axioms in this “world” are space and time. Then I hear the axioms on the “other side” are knowledge and love. I claim love and knowledge as my axioms in this world.

    1. I have not listened to this Dreamland interview yet, BUT AGAIN, this THOUGHT FOR THE DAY appears to be synchronistic.

      Friday, January 5

“The law of cause and effect is as the law of…TIME AND SPACE…- for cause and effect are one, and each creates its own recompense by the application of same, and in the application of any law (which is love – law being love, LOVE being law) the truth, the effect, the cause is seen.”

      CCL 2842-2

“…the law of cause and effect is as the law of TIME AND SPACE – for cause and effect are one, and each creates its own recompense by the application of same, and in the application of any law (which is love – law being love, LOVE being law) the truth, the effect, the cause is seen.”

      Edgar Cayce reading 2842-2

    2. But it was “axes,” not “axioms.” A different concept though the effect may be similar.

      1. I knew someone would bring this up! I saw my mistake after I posted it. I suppose my intent was lost. It just made me feel good that I have been focusing on love and knowledge and will continue to do so. I love listening to Whitley and have been doing so for many years.

        1. Dang, it’s too bad we don’t have a longer period to edit our comments! Sorry if I overpoliced you! Copyeditor here– I’m told I have a TypeO personality.

Anyway, love and knowledge rather than time and space– I’ll do my best to focus on those too.

    3. These two last podcasts have been right up the subjects I have read steadily and consistently about since I was a college studen-, and I am a retired old lady now. Heard them at least 3 times each. So interesting and deep. I would like to start reading writings by (best translations) of Meister Eckhart to follow up on meditative practices — after having enjoyed and receiving responses and experiencing some kind of reactions from who knows in the Universe who was listening . I usually go to sleep while listening to The Blue Pearl meditation and similar created around that same time. . Regarding Eckhart , who is mentioned during this podcast and a favorite of WS, I would like to read more about his ideas and meditative practices to do some meditations along his philosoph- but find it difficult to decide which book to start with that could be a primer for me but truthful to the original thoughts on its translation. Interested basically on meditations , sermons or essays..Any help in that direction is appreciated. I wa looking at some digital books on his writings but somehow I clicked somewhere on the screen and the book I was interested in downloading, disappeared from my page . I could not find it back from the HISTORY of my search…Any help in finding a good English ( translation) primer by Meister Eckhart’s writings to get acquainted with his ideas is welcomed. Thanks!

  2. do you think the great climate change events that will reduce the species will start happening before (MASTER OF THE KEY) 2100, if you had to guess?

a lot of us will be entering this stage, if so.

    1. I don’t recall MOTK giving us an actual date or this 2100?????

It was more of it will happen within a season and will not be known for what it is..

Also changes begin as we move into the Aquarian age?? 2200 ?? Year cycle ~ 2 thousand years. Did we pass the galactic center ? Or did we leave piscian ???age

      1. Extracts from Whitley’s “The Key”, originally published in 2001…..

Q: “I wish to ask about the future. What is our future?”

A: (shortened) “The future of mankind is either to ascend or go extinct”….”For mankind, the matter will be decided in this century, however.”

Q: “How will it be decided?”
A: “The climate will begin to change in 2000, and this process will accelerate over the next decades. There is a great cycle of climate that began 2.8 million years ago and has resulted in the fundamental destabilization of your world’s weather system. You evolved intelligence in order to survive the sudden shifts back and forth from ice ages to temperate periods. In fact, this planetary instability has been the engine of your evolution. The cycle is about to change, and to challenge you again.”

        Q: “Why will this happen?”
A: “Warmth being retained near the surface by greenhouse elements results in cooling aloft. A massive and extremely powerful convection can arise that results in a storm so great that it changes the climate permanently.”

Q: “What form will this take?”
A: “The next ice age will begin soon, and this will lead to the extinction of mankind, or to a massive reduction in population, given your inability to expand off the planet. This planet is at present a death trap.”

        Q: “Why will this happen?”
A: “Because air at the surface is getting warmer, the north polar ice is melting, reducing the salinity of the Laurentian sea. At some point, winds crossing this sea due to the increasing difference between lower and higher atmospheric pressures will warm the northern ocean so much that the temperature differential needed to pump the North Atlantic Current will not be sufficient, and the current will slow down, stop, or stop flowing so far north. This same mechanism always triggers ice ages, and would happen within a few thousand years no matter what. However, human activity has sped up the process of atmospheric warming, so the change will be sooner and stronger. The greater part of human industry and culture, along with the species’ most educated populations, will be destroyed in a single season. This will happen suddenly and without warning, or rather, the warning will not be recognized for what it is.”

          1. That was a very interesting link Elene, thanks. It seems we can no longer ignore the “ignorosphere” any longer!

        1. Ah yes I read those many times- I had the KEY on my nightstand and read it like a monk would read a bible many times over. TY for posting Sherbet UFO.

I think what will be decided is are we going to slow this GCC down or let it ride in 2000-2100. And then going forward centuries later will be survival in a bold new climate.

I think it will be akin to stopping a fast moving barge…Its to late, the inertia is there and we will slam into teh dock. Even if we were able to go to zero admissions it will take decades if not century to return to pre industrial Co2 levels. We are going to surpass this 1,5 C ceiling ..easily- all we need is .5 now to break it. The catch -22 of teh aerosol masking effect has already trapped mankind. We will warm to hot then snap to ice age- we have exacerbated the natural cycle.
I just finished a super non-fiction book The GREAT DISPLACEMENT about climate migration in the USA.. each chapter is an area: Pinellas Az, Paradise , CA, Louisiana Norfolk etc…. I’ll post it under the climate change message heading.

So now what? Its about adapting- not stopping-perhaps slowing…but its here. Its like a hot potato game of our youth.. when will you have to sell your home and move? Whom is going to be caught when teh potato timer buzzes off?
This ascension that MOTK speaks of… mediate or disintegrate but then what ?do we spiritually move to a new “earth” Do we catch a ride with Elon or teh very rich? Seriously, I think we are a rarity and that’s why ‘thems’ want to save earth-not us so much.
Questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( alas I must get back to my job adieu!)

          1. Firstly, yes, unfortunately I think you are correct. Have you noticed that no-one seems to mention the so-called ‘tipping point’ anymore…probably because it’s been and gone…the climate-related ‘grey thing with a trunk’ in the room.

On the subject of migration, I think it all depends on how quickly certain areas become unlivable. If it takes a long time, then I’m in two minds…people are either going to naturally adapt out of necessity, or it’s going to be like the lobster in the pot scenario, except this time the water is getting gradually, progressively colder.

Regarding your last question about what happens if you have meditated enough not to ‘disintegrate’…yeah, that’s a good question. I get the impression that your soul might then be coherent enough to allow you to have a choice about the next direction. Either get absorbed back to the light (Source), or make your own light and continue your soul development in a manner of your own choosing. I don’t believe the MoTK was too specific about what that might entail…see this extract from “The Key”, after them talking about Rembrandt…

Whitley: “So he persisted as a radiant being? Where is he now?”
            MoTK: “That’s his business.”

        2. I find it to be strange that these posters did not mention the aspect that human consciousness has a tremendous influence on our weather currents and polar stability, as we are all of an enormous intelligence system, which, for lack of another way of describing it, I will reference Lovelock in the Gaian system or matrix. It is so obvious to parallel between the extreme polarization of human mental thought processes and resulting emotional dysregulation in that direction towards the same kind of increasing polarity patterns that we see in the weather and the same stabilization. Our species is really one species of which we are each individualized parts, is fragmenting and coming apart. Perhaps some of us will branch into a new human, and others will evolve. Certainly the earth as a part of us, from which our physicality, at least, including our brains’ hardware, arose with is changing as well. Perhaps it is going to divide like a cell because as we know the maxim “As Above So Below” which refers to the patterns of the cosmos, is at work. In nature, the tiny unit of the cell must divide to grow. Dolores Cannon is right in part but the new the earth will be the child of this one on another dimension and maybe there are older earths in other dimensions. Perhaps they are an overly warmed hell scape, and this is where we got our mythology about hell and the demons are devolved humans. this is a tangent, but all to say that when we leave human consciousness, especially in its polarized version, disconnected as it is now from its own relationship with Gaia, due to the destruction of Shamanic cultures that maintained that balance and equilibrium for thousands of years (as described in Hamlet’s Mill, the wonderful book that Whitley has mentioned a number of times in the past), we do not live the same as life in this form on this dimension is based in the planetary matrix.

I love this interview so much, and Mr. Moody’s humility is truly inspiring. I love that he references the pre milesian philosophers from the archaic period, who although represented the turn toward rationalism, that began to be very firmly established and Plato’s time a few hundred years later , the past gestiges of a lost knowledge and perspective of wonder based in unity seemed to be lingering. The ancient mystery schools, and their origins, based in the old chthonic creator gods, still continued for hundreds of years to help the humans to keep the balance. It’s taken a little over 2000 years for that spindle to wobble out of the range of stability. But now here we are, and it does not look like humans have the ability to realize their part in that extremism of perspectives. Side note, shamanic cultures also maintain between the worlds of the living and the other side and assisted the confused and restless spirits on their journey to wholeness. The other side can be a treacherous experience for the ones who are very stuck and disassociated IRL. Thus the important of Dr. Moody’s book the description of which reads like a much-needed”book of the dead” for postmodern culture. Bravo and thank you.

    2. With respect to the MoTK and Whitley’s recollections of his conversation with him, in “The Key”, it seems both Falsetruth and Jamesy are correct.

There are references to a destruction within a single season…and also that the matter will be concluded, one way or the other, this century (2000-2100).

  3. This episode drops two days after the death of my mother in law. I will be listening intently. Thank you for having this guest at this time.

    1. I’m sorry to hear of your and your family’s loss. I hope all is well with your mother-in-law on the other side and that you will hear from her if it’s what you and she want.

      1. Thank you. We have since received a few strange phone calls with silence on the other end and ‘No Data’ displayed on the caller ID. I’ve never seen that on my phone before.

        1. Wow, that does sound like it’s in line with what “dead” folks often do. You may get something more definite as time goes by.

  4. During the interview, it was mentioned that one of the post NDE effects is a marked increase in psychic ability. Isn’t the same also supposed to be true after a close encounter experience? Almost as if, what they are being exposed to, is one and the same…or from the same soure, or has the same energetic essence. I have often wondered if the timeless land of the dead and the realm the visitors inhabit, is essentially the same place…which can be accessed, to a certain degree, from our own dreamworld.

    1. This is an important consideration. While many of the ET Visitors are organic and some perhaps AI, there seem to be a group of grays who are like mediums: they are in touch with the dead. Perhaps the other side is open to all. Perhaps in experiencing a being with a foot in both worlds, then, as you say, the energetic essence is very similar to a NDE and produces very similar results.

  5. A great start to the Dreamland year. Lots of excellent information in this show and it provided much to contemplate.
Congrats on 25 years of the show and here’s to the next 25!

  6. I’m looking forward to this show.

Having enjoyed a couple of days in the north of England I am now driving South homeward bound.

I shall listen to this show as I potter along, looking forward to rolling up in my leafy little village and settling down for a nice relaxing weekend of reading, old time radio and perhaps, just perhaps, indulge in watching some more Dexter episodes.

Ahh, there’ll never be another TV series that even comes close to Dexter..

    Peace.

  7. It’s all true… based on my own experiences… Perfect interview !🙂

  8. For those like Whitley and me who are in persistent contact with our “dead,” this whole idea that we have to keep proving the existence of an afterlife seems surreal and bizarre. It’s like being required to prove that air exists.

But I do very much appreciate Raymond Moody’s efforts over all these many years to bring awareness to this crucially important subject, along with Paul Perry and others. Now these things are more or less an easy thing to discuss, not pooh-poohed nearly so much as in the past, or at least it seems so to me. And it took brave pioneers to make that happen.

I didn’t know that Moody had this intense grounding in formal logic. It helps, I think, when dealing with more nebulous data and experiences, to have that sort of solidity under one’s feet.

Thank you for this enlightening and fun episode!

  9. This was one of the most delightful interviews I have heard in a very long time. Thank you so much for interviewing Raymond Moody and Paul Perry. I found myself laughing out loud and smiling, and after the interview I was in such a great mood! I could listen to Raymond talk all day long. And I loved the way Paul responded to him. I could tell that he is a great deal of respect for his writing partner, and these two have a close and respectful relationship. The love and camaraderie shown between all three of you was just beautiful to behold. Again, thank you.

  10. When I was 24 and lost my best friend, He visited me the day after the funeral, which he was about an hour late, due to a fan belt brake on the hurst bringing his body to where he was to be buried. I saw him and so did my ex girlfriend in the same place in my house. The next morning my dog woke me up frantically barking and whining at the door which was wide open and all but one animal was accounted for, but his cat Kona. We never found him and had posters and many looking…
