This is provocative stuff. If the reactor core does melt down, it’s going to be an extraordinary disaster, especially in a crowded country like Japan. There is also a story on this site to the effect that Japan has been ignoring the danger of seismic events to their nuclear facilities. If you get to see this before about six Pacific time on Friday, it should still show the planet literally vibrating from the Japan quake, just like it did after the great Banda Acha quake and tusnami.
