Back in 2011, the sun was so quiet that researchers were speculating that it might be entering a long term period of lowered output. Now that the current solar max has reached its climactic months and is proving to be the quietest in a century, that speculation is being renewed. If this is happening, global warming models could be derailed as Earth ends up facing another mini ice age similar to the one that began in the 1350s and did not end until the 1890s.  This would have a profound effect on Earth’s weather and could indeed save us from runaway global warming.read more

Singer Ryan Adams reported that he and other motorists saw a huge UFO being chased by helicopters, but then deleted his tweets about the subject from his Twitter feed. He tweeted "three cops were tearing ass in its direction in oncoming traffic. Thing was huge." And again, "Choppers in the air near it."
These tweets were soon removed from his profile. So far, we have received no other reports of this event.

A weekly reading and discussion group Whitley and I are in seems to fixated on the subject of death right now, which is something that those of us who are actually FACING IT find distressing–I would much rather talk about LIFE.

One thing I learned, that I told everyone there, is that when it’s your time to go, one of your dead friends or relatives will come to help you make the transition. When I nearly died in 2004, my dead Siamese cat came to guide me–or it may have been my mother, or both of them, who knows? Anyway, I felt both presences. This time my dad had has shown up.

It has been known since the discovery of Neanderthal burials in Shanidar Cave in northern Iraq that they buried their dead with love and honor, and now it has been discovered that modern human were also doing this. The Neanderthal burials date from 60,000 years ago, and the recently discovered modern human remains, buried on a bed of flowers, date from 15,000 years.
