The composition is about half common volcanic minerals and half non-crystalline materials such as glass.

It’s time to begin paying attention to the new SARS-like virus found in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. While only six cases have been identified so far, two of the patients died. Lots of Saudis travel to the West on business–will it spread to this country?

In Forbes, David DiSalvo reports that the World Health Organization (WHO) issued an international alert in late September saying a virus previously unknown in humans had infected a Qatari man who had recently been in Saudi Arabia, where another man with the same virus had died.

An update says they have discovered four more cases and one of the new patients has also died.

Who needs to keep a straight face and not reveal their emotions? Poker players! Despite sometimes unintended consequences, a doctor is betting that poker players are going to be the next big market for Botox.

In the Huffington Post, David Moye quotes Dr. Jack Berdy as saying, "Some people might get a card they like or don’t like and raise their eyebrows. If that’s the common reaction, we can put Botox in certain areas to minimize them."

Berdy is marketing a combination of Botox and facial fillers for players called "Pokertox."

The answer might be the new science of 3-D printing: All you need to do is take along a laptop and a 3-D printer and you can have anything you want. But you need appropriate raw materials to print ON, so it’s still a problem.
