We recently had a close call, and it turns out that the UK is one of the most vulnerable places on Earth, when it comes to an impact from a space rock. Experts there have created a chart showing which countries are most likely to suffer severe loss of life or catastrophic damage if a large asteroid hits the earth.

They have decided that the most vulnerable countries are Brazil, Britain, China, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Nigeria, the Philippines and the US. The countries on the list are highly populated nations, where an impact would mean millions of deaths.

In a study of 31 Boston offices, PBDE flame retardants, which are now banned internationally by the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, were detected in every one. Researchers think the concentrations of PBDEs in office dust are linked to levels of the chemicals on the HANDS of the office workers, and they think this is a good indication of how much of this chemical is in people’s blood.

Meanwhile, there was a massive dust storm in Phoenix that created a wall of dust 10,000 feet high before it finally dissipated. Meteorologist Paul Iniguez says, "We heard from a lot of people who lived here for a number of storms and this was the worst they’d seen." Lake Erie has been a UFO hotspot for years. This footage is interesting toward the end, when the object comes quite close to the camera, about 8 minutes in. Because it is night, of course, it could be something easily explained, but the genuine surprise of the videographer suggests otherwise.
