But that’s not why we’re not returning to the moon – Obama cancelled the moon landing program because it’s too expensive, so even if there is life and water on the moon, we won’t be flying up there to do some moon mining any time soon. Another problem is that the moon contains the coldest place in the solar system! If we did go, our astronauts would have to stay away from the northern shadowed craters up there.

Craters are being found in Australia based on Aboriginal Dreaming Stories, but the Aborigines have been in Australia for around 50,000 years, while the craters are millions of years old. Are the Aborigines actually a far older population, or are the craters younger (or is there another explanation for the discrepancy)?

An Australian astronomer found a huge, bowl-shaped crater by searching Google Earth. But he knew where to look by listening to an Australian Aborigine “Dreaming Story” about a star that had fallen into a waterhole.

After Obama’s State of the Union speech, in which he emphasized jobs, it’s interesting to reflect on how the choice of words affects politics. It turns out that the various terms used to describe the very same proposals and policies can influence whether or not voters support them in the future. But some wordless emotional expressions are the same in EVERY culture!

We all saw this in the last election, when candidate Obama’s suggestion that elderly people make out a “living will” in order to qualify for national health insurance (something many of them have already done voluntarily) was described by candidate Sarah Palin as the creation of “Death Panels.”
