Given up pot? Try a pot of coffee!

People who drink too much coffee may start hallucinating. This was discovered by researchers who found that people who drank more than 7 cups a day were more likely to see ghosts and hear strange voices, etc. However, they say that hearing voices is not, by itself, a sign of mental illness (3% of people claim to do this).

BBC News quotes psychologist Simon Jones as saying, “This is the first step toward looking at the wider factors associated with hallucinations?”Even if caffeine were responsible for hallucinations in some way, the part it plays would be small compared to other factors in life.”
