How did it start? – We all know that Thanksgiving didn’t REALLY start with the pilgrims, but how DID it start?

The current version of Thanksgiving was created by a journalistic crusader, and would have been unrecognizable to the Pilgrims it supposedly honors. The holiday came about through fifty years of relentless promotion by Sarah Hale, editor of Godey?s Lady?s Book and Magazine (one of the first women’s publications). She promoted it in columns and stories in her magazine until President Abraham Lincoln finally made it a national holiday. In 1863 Lincoln declared that Thanksgiving would be celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November.

German researchers recreated a naturally-occurring molecule called K(D)PT, which is similar to the hormones that stimulate melanin, which controls skin and hair color. When they treated hair follicles with K(D)PT, they found that the amount of melanin in the follicle increased enough so that researcher Ralf Paus thinks the technique could be used as an “anti-graying agent” that will be better than Claire Care for Men or Grecian Formula.

One of the causes of juvenile delinquency is impulsiveness?teens don’t think before they act. It could be because their brains haven’t finished developing yet.

But no matter what the reason is, a new study reveals that teens who drive without a license are disproportionately involved in fatal crashes. A survey of more than 5,000 teens across the country revealed that about 6% of students in grades 9 through 11 reported driving unsupervised without a license. 20% of 14- to 18-year-old drivers involved in fatal crashes in 2006 did not have a license.
