While the Kyoto protocol, in which a group of countries agree to control pollution in order to help stop global warming, is a good idea, there is a lot of hypocrisy taking place. For instance, Italy trying to fulfill agreement by planting trees, but this doesn’t work. Now it’s been revealed that some of the countries involved have been UNDER reporting their true levels of greenhouse gases.

Duke University professors Lynn Smith-Lovin and Robert L. Wilson say that the average American’s circle of close friends has shrunk dramatically in the past two decades. And the number of people who say they have no one they can discuss important concerns with has more than doubled.

Stephen Hawking says it will, if global warming continues the way it’s going now. Hawking says he is “very worried about global warming” because the earth “might end up like Venus, at 250 degrees centigrade and raining sulfuric acid.”

In LiveScience.com, Alexa Olesen reports that he made this speech in front of an audience of 500 people in China, which is the second largest producer of greenhouse gases (after the US).

Hawking said that although he is confined to a wheelchair, his mind is “free to explore back to the origins of the universe and into black holes.”
