If your waitress has long fingernails, get up from the tableand run. Cooks and waitpeople with long nails are morelikely to pass on food bugs such as E.coli. Artificial nailsare an especially nasty breeding ground for harmful bacteria.

One type of UFO that’s been spotted regularly over the lastdecade is the black triangle. They are big and black and,like almost all UFOs, silent.

Research by the National Institute for Discovery Sciencethinks at least some of these mysterious triangles may besecret, lighter-than-air, blimp-style craft manufactured bythe U.S. military, They call them “Big Black Deltas” orBBDs. NIDS first suspected the triangles were military-madewhen they noticed that many sightings took place near U.S.Air Force bases. One example is a sighting by over a dozenwitnesses, including four police officers, on January 5,2000, of a large, silent, low-flying black triangular-shapedobject that flew near Scott Air Force Base.

A huge crater has been discovered hundreds of feet beneaththe floor of the North Sea by seismic mapping equipmentdesigned for petroleum exploration. The 12-mile-wide crater,called Silverpit, is 60 to 65 million years old, going backto the end of the dinosaur era, and was created by theimpact of a massive meteorite. This means that not just one,but two, impacts killed off the dinosaurs.

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf isn’t convinced thatOsama bin-Laden was behind the September 11 attacks. “Ididn’t think it possible that Osama sitting up there in themountains could do it,” Musharraf says in a New YorkerMagazine interview. “He was perhaps the sponsor, thefinancier, the motivating force. But those who executed itwere much more modern. They knew the U.S., they knewaviation. I don’t think he has the intelligence or theminute planning. The planner was someone else.”
