I hope weve learned one thing from September 11th. The next event will not be to commandeer aircraft and fly them into buildings. These guys spent a couple of years trying to identify the subtle weaknesses of our air transport system and put all of their effort in exploiting that, all at once in a big way. So, if they try again, they will not attempt something that goes directly against our defenses. So thats the first principle: Asymmetric Attack hit them where they arent.

A group of British explorers say they?ve found irrefutable proof of a ?Yeti-like? creature on an Indonesian island. They discovered a footprint and hair samples of a primate whichhas long been known in the mythology of tribes in Western Sumatra.

Andrew Sanderson, Adam Davies and Keith Towley spent three weeks in the rainforeststracking a creature called Orang Pendek, which means ?Little Man of the Forest.? Sightings describe the creature as 5 feet tall with chocolate-brown and orange hair. It?s distinguishing feature is its humanlike gait. It walks upright on its back legs without using its front fists, as a Gorilla does.

For years, advertisers have been telling us that subliminal messages really don’t work. Think again. Takeo Watanabe and his colleagues at Boston University believe that subconscious learning is possible and that it may affect our conscious decisions without our realizing it.

They found that people who watched a pattern of subliminal dot movements during a trial were significantly better at picking it out later.

The finding challenges the idea that attention is an essential element of the learning process. ?Attention can make learning more efficient,? says Watanabe, ?but it?s not necessary.”

We?ve heard many urban legends about psychics who predicted the September 11 events (although we didn?t hear about them until after the terrorist attacks happened). We?ve heard creepy stories that appear to be true, about school children from Middle Eastern families dropping hints about what was to come. Now the story of another 911 prediction is unfolding in a Toronto, Canada jail cell.

Delmart Edward Vreeland, who faces credit fraud charges in Canada and in the United States, has told his story in sworn court affidavits. The 35-year-old American claims to be a lieutenant in a U.S. Navy intelligence unit, and also a spy who knew in advance about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
