On Dreamland September 6, 2001, Ivar Zapp and George Erikson discuss a remarkable new theory of ancient navigation that is based on a group of mysterious stone spheres in Costa Rica. The alignment of these spheres implies the existence of a complex and world-girdling navigation system that must date from very ancient times.

The speheres themselves have been described by archaeologists as “out of context,” meaning that they do not fit established patterns of construction and architecture seen in the area. No attempt has ever been made to explain them or date them.

Diplomatic moves are being made to unite various tribal forces opposed to the Taliban in an effort to topple the regime before any US ground action against Osama bin Laden is undertaken. US air strikes are expected to support efforts by Afghan forces to topple the Taliban.

The Northern Alliance is calling Afghan tribal groups to a Loya Jirga, a rare Afghan national assembly that is convened when important decisions are to be made. It is not expected that the Northern Alliance, which is only slightly less repressive than the Taliban, will form a new national government.

The War between the Palestinians and the Israelis has been going on for a very long time and is being fought–with words–all over the world. We recently posted a story about a group of Orthodox Jews who want to build a new temple near (or on) the site of a major mosque in Jerusalem, while at the same time a group of Palestinians is trying to eradicate all presence of the remains of the original Jewish temple that lies underneath the Dome of the Rock.

We recently reported that a group of Orthodox Jews want to lay cornerstones for a new temple at or near one of the major centers of Islam, Jerusalem?s Dome of the Rock, or Al Aqsa Mosque, which was built on top of the ruins of the 2nd Jewish temple that was destroyed by the Romans 2,000 years ago. In order to discredit this attempt, a group of Palestinians has been secretly excavating and removing all remains of the temple in an effort to deny that it was ever there, despite clear historical evidence to the contrary.
