UPI, London Daily Mail – Scientists in Wales have discovered a tiny form of life that may have been dropped into Earth?s atmosphere by a passing comet. Researchers say that in the filter of a high-flying balloon, operated by the Indian Space Research Organization, they found a strain of bacteria unlike anything on earth. The bacteria were found at an altitude of ten miles and scientists at Cardiff University say it may have come from a comet on an approach to Earth. Professor Charles Wickramasinghe said the discovery marked “the first time we have had direct evidence for the hypothesis that comets seed life on other planets.

In Whitley Strieber’s 1984 book Nature’s End, he mentioned a revolutionary new solar energy converter called Lumeloid by its inventor, Dr. Alvin Marks. This material was capable of converting sunlight into electricity at a 50% efficiency rate. As such, it could revolutionize the entire power industry by reducing dependence on oil.

Strieber was then told that the material had been classified. He met Dr. Marks and Secretary of Defense Casper Weinberger at a dinner, and asked the secretary to release the formula to the world. There was no response, and he was left not knowing the actual status of the material.

NYT – After Genetically contaminated StarLink corn, which can only be fed to cattle, was recently found in the corn used in taco shells, American seed manufacturers have admitted that they cannot control the spread of Genseed and can?t guarantee that any shipment of corn will be free from this type of contamination. The American Seed Trade Association wants to establish an accepted level of tolerance for the mixing of the two kinds of seeds.

The pollen from genetically engineered corn can easily spread to other fields and contaminate those crops. Crops also become contaminated when stored. The StarLink corn contamination could have been caused by a mix-up in seed handling at the Garst Seed Company, which handles both genetic and non-genetic corn.
