NASA’s ACE spacecraft recorded an interplanetary shock wave heading toward Earth on October 12th at 2145 UT (5:45 pm EDT). Sky watchers should be on the alert for aurora between the times of local sunset on Oct. 12th and sunrise on Oct 13th. The bright full Moon will likely outshine faint aurora, but intense geomagnetic storms can produce auroras that are visible in spite of lunar interference. Early this morning magnetic fields around sunspot AR9182 became unstable.

A nearby solar filament explosively collapsed and a coronal mass ejection is now heading toward Earth. There could be aurora and other geomagnetic disturbances later this week when the leading edge of the CME hits our magnetosphere.

On September 8, 2000, NASA Shuttle Mission STS-106 joined the numerous shuttle missions that have videotaped or photographed UFOs. The UFO involved appeared in mission video that was recorded from the ground, but has been edited out of subsequent copies provided by NASA.

There may have been audio transmissions concerning the object as well, but the audio refers to “ET” which may mean something else, such as “External Tank.” Normally, an unknown craft would have been referred to as a “bogey.” Of course, it could be that UFOs have become so common on shuttle missions that they are no longer uknowns and are assumed by astronauts to be of extraterrestrial origin. No other known transmission from the shuttle refer to the external tanks in this way.

Last week I had the kind of experience I’ve had many times in the years since Whitley wrote Communion. I talked to some people I’ve gotten to know recently and heard some extraordinary stories.

Like most of the folks we meet every day, these people could be described as ordinary. One of them confessed that after he started photographing strange craft, he developed a triangle-shaped injury on his arm after a night when he slept deeply, almost until noon, although he’s usually up at six every morning. He showed us the injury.
