Dalai Lama Excluded From UN Peace Summit
Alone among world religious leaders, the Dalai Lama has been excluded from the UN Millennium Peace Summit, despite being the winner of the 1989 Nobel Peace prize.
Pressure from the Chinese has forced this exclusion and as usual, the U.S. hasn’t protested. These days, our government seems to be run by people whose main interest is trading with the Chinese, to the exclusion of any and all moral concerns. When I look at our leading presidential candidates, I know this will only get worse in the future.
For fifty years after World War II, we supported one terrible dictatorship after another, in order to stop the spread of Communism. Latin America is just now beginning to recover from this policy. Africa may not make it.
