The answer lies deeply embedded in the physics of perception and was first put forward by a cyberneticist and physicist, Dr. John von Neumann, called in his time "the smartest man in the world."
Whitley embarked on a study of the so-called quantum perception problem to determine if the explosive and terrifying reason might be true.
He found that the government's bizarre adherence to denial and secrecy made sense in light of what he had been told was Dr. Von Neumann's theory--and his great fear.
Dr. Von Neumann died in 1954, a haunted man. Listen as Whitley Strieber reads his story "The Open Doors," a speculation about what might have so frightened this ultimate insider as he approached death.
