Tuesday, January 10, 2012
Is it simply the idea of 2012 that has caused this dramatic upsurge in UFO activity, or is something really happening? One thing: we're about to find out.

Hard to be certain of this, but the objects don't look like space debris. Graded A for authenticity of the video, not accuracy of the interpretation, which cannot be known.

The object appears in the photo of the corral, the third of the five photos. We have done a little contrast work with it, and it does not appear to be a bird or a plane. It's unlikely to be a CIG effect, so we think this is a good UFO shot, clearly caught by accident. Thanks to a sharp-eyed Unknowncountry.com reader! Read the message board thread

Whitley Strieber tells us that he saw a number of square UFOs when he was a child, and one appeared over the radio station he was broadcasting Dreamland from in 2001.

What might be happening in this video is very mysterious. From 1:07 on, the upper left and lower right cameras show anomalies. There are unexplained explosions in the upper left video, and numerous unexplained objects appearing and flashing past in the lower right video. This is highly unusual footage. Graded C.

Unfortunately, these witnesses were unable to get photos, so there is no way to evaulate the sighting.
This sighting was twittered as it was happening, bringing out many more witnesses. UFO events and the number of people witnessing them continue to rise.

There is a good probability that this is a genuine photo. It could be a kite or a balloon, but not likely in the area the photograph was made. Graded B.
Spurs star Manu Ginobili saw a UFO on December 1 in LA, and has been looking for answers ever since. The photo suggests a similarity to an object seen over Santa Monica on December 8.

The question is, where was Whitley Strieber when this happened? He is often in Santa Moncia.

We've been asked what it takes for us to grade a video "A." This video is professionally produced, includes a police report recorded while the officer was making a visual observation, and comes from a known source, the National Geographic. We have also independently confirmed the sighting. Graded A.

There have been many reports from the UK in the past few years that could be Chinese lanterns. This is definitely not such a report. Graded B.

Why abruptly stop taping a UFO as spectacualr as this? Graded D.

The scientific community and the media so dearly wish that there was a simple explanation for UFOs. But the ball lightning story is so old, it's truly amazing that they would try to bring it back. Graded D.

Unfortunately, the video is pretty minimal, but the witness description certainly suggests an unknown. Flares, airborne lanterns and balloons don't move as rapidly as these are described as moving. Video cannot be graded, beyond saying that it is not a special effect or an animation.
