Out There stories relating to "New York UFO"

Tuesday, August 30, 2016

Actress Rowan Blanchard may have captured an image of a type of UFO in New York that was frequently observed and filmed in that region in the 1980s, and has more recently been photographed in Scotland and San Diego. However, we have been unable to determine if she took the shot from behind a window or if she was outdoors when she did it. If she took it from behind glass, it is more likely to be a reflection that was not noticed at the time she made the shot. However, if she was outdoors, then, unless she was using a camera with a lens defect, the image is unexplained.

A UFO that appeared over the Bronx on April 20 prompted 911 calls and a substantial amount of witness testimony. The video here is unexceptional, as this could easily be the evening star, which  Venus at this time, and shines brightly in the western sky. It's also difficult to tell if the object in the video and the one being reported by witnesses are the same thing. One thing is certain, though: there was an exceptional sighting event of some sort  the Bronx on the 20th. Graded A, Probably True.

This object over the Statue of Liberty doesn't move like a balloon, and after crossing the sky, it stops. It's not a known form of drone, so it could be a genuine unknown. It is not a computer graphic.

The National UFO Center reports that professional photographer Jim Montanus of Montanus Photpgraphy photographed an unusual object while taking shots of an incoming storm over Braddock Bay in Greece, New York. He did not see the objects with the naked eye, but they were visible through the camera's preview window on his digital SLR.

It's not clear what the images show. Probably not lens effects, given Mr. Montanus's knowledge of cameras. If a meteor, it would appear to be moving very slowly as these are long-exposure shots. At this time, we're calling this a probable unknown.

“I was looking at these shapes on the back of my cameras and saying what IS it? I don’t believe in UFOs, but, you know, it’s just one of those things. It was just cool.”

For the first three quarters of this video, this appears to be a blimp maneuvering in the sky behind the Statue of Liberty. Nothing unusual there. But then the thing speeds up, going much faster than a blimp, and emits a stream of smoke. This is very similar to a 1952 sighting described by Dr. Paul A. Hill in his book Unconventional Flying Objects. The only caveat here is that this poster has a number of UFO posts--but they're certainly not CGI effects. Rather, they're more-or-less wishful thinking, not actual UFOs. This, however, is a very different kettle of fish. This may well be a craft of unknown origin.

This video of a group of pink lights could be an unknown object, but it could also be lights on towers or smokestacks. It would be helpful to have another video of the same location taken during the day. It is not candle lanterns.

This sighting took place in the general area of the Hudson Valley UFO sightings of the 1980s, and the location of Whitley Strieber's famous cabin. Could they be returning to the area?

There is no reason to disbelieve this video, and it is indeed yet another UFO grouping, this time over New York City. These are really becoming so common that we have to wonder if they might not be leading to something new.
