The internet has been abuzz with rumors that the government is building ominous detention centers. Now the San Francisco Chronicle reveals that this has been going on for almost 10 years as part of a Homeland Security plan called “ENDGAME.” And as might be expected, they’re being build by a subsidiary of Halliburton. But WHO are they for?

In the Chronicle, Lewis Seiler and Dan Hamburg ask the question: “What kind of ‘new programs’ require the construction and refurbishment of detention facilities in nearly every state of the union with the capacity to house perhaps millions of people?” In addition, they report that “the government has also contracted with several companies to build thousands of railcars, some reportedly equipped with shackles, ostensibly to transport detainees.”
