Weekender: Could the Chilling Fate of Flight MH370 Soon Be Revealed?

The search for the missing plane, Malaysia flight MH370, goes on, with not a single shred of evidence being uncovered to date.

The aircraft went missing on March 8, as it travelled from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Any morsel of new information regarding its whereabouts is being seized upon by the world's media, hungry for any news that might shed light on the plane's incomprehensible disappearance, in the hope of bringing some relief to the hundreds of confused and grieving relatives waiting to learn the fate of the 239 missing passengers.

The most recent theory is that the plane crashed into the ocean off the coast of western Australia, but underwater drones have failed to find any trace of the plane in order to substantiate. It has also been determined that floating debris sighted in the same area was not wreckage from the plane. The Australian search coordination center orchestrating the search stated that 95 per cent of a 120-square-mile search area had been scanned without yielding any relevant evidence.

The search area is a circle with a 6-mile radius, 2.8 miles deep off the west Australian coast is based around the point where signals consistent with those emitted by airplane black box recorders were heard on April 8th.Exploration of the area is expected to be fully complete within the next few days.

So, where should investigators concentrate their efforts now?

"If no contacts of interest are made, Bluefin 21 will continue to examine the areas adjacent to the 10-kilometer radius," the Australian center said in a statement."We are currently consulting very closely with our international partners on the best way to continue the search into the future."

Outside of the marine crash theory, author John Chuckman proposes that the plane could have been shot down by the United States' airforce and the facts are now being obfuscated.

“Could it be that the United States shot down Flight MH370, either accidentally or deliberately, and now wants to keep it secret?” queries Chuckman, writing for OpEdNews. “The possibility of recovery of the full wreckage, even if its location were found, from four miles under the sea amongst underwater mountains is extremely remote at best, so the United States can remain confident that physical evidence will never emerge.”

Another popular theory gaining momentum is that the plane may have been landed and is being hidden. This could tie into earlier reports that told of an interrupted distress call made by the plane's pilot shortly before it went missing.

“We may have to regroup soon to look into this possibility if no positive results come back in the next few days,” sources within the International Investigation Team told the New Straits Times. “The thought of it landing somewhere else is not impossible, as we have not found a single debris that could be linked to MH370. However, the possibility of a specific country hiding the plane when more than 20 nations are searching for it, seems absurd.”

Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Razak revealed that a preliminary report on the investigation is due to be released into the public domain next week, though it is already in the hands of the Department of Civil Aviation. The report is said to contain a recommendation for all commercial aircraft to be tracked; this comes after a key issue in the investigation over whether Flight 370 was tracked by military radar which indicated that it turned back and flew back over Malaysia.

"The military radar ... tracked an aircraft, which did turn back, but they were not sure whether it was MH370," Najib told CNN. "What they were sure of was that the aircraft was not deemed to be hostile."

Najib said his government was not yet prepared to declare MH370's passengers dead, though did add that it was now "hard to imagine otherwise."

"At some point in time I would be, but right now I think I need to take into account the feelings of the next of kin - and some of them have said publicly that they aren't willing to accept it until they find hard evidence."

So, what next? Should we be applying more lateral thinking in order to determine what has happened to the missing plane?

When faced with such an apparently inexplicable enigma, perhaps it is time to broaden our minds and ponder whether the disappearance of the plane could be part of a much larger scenario. Conventional search methods and postulated scenarios have so far drawn a blank, and the plane remains missing without a trace.

Shortly after the its disappearance, Whitley Strieber examined the evidence to support the three most likely scenarios: that the plane had crashed into the sea; that it was in the hands of terrorists, or that it had fallen foul of an even stranger fate. Subscribers can access this report here.

Assuming now, due to the lack of solid evidence, that the plane did not crash into the sea, then the possibility for its use in a forthcoming terrorist attack is looking more likely, especially when considered in conjunction with other anomalous events that have occurred recently around the globe.

Whitley explored this possibility in more detail in his recent journal entry, which subscriber "A Dire Warning, the Disappearance of Flight 370 May Be the Beginning of a Terror Attack, Not the End"

Whitley describes how, with its carrying capacity and long range, a Boeing 777 could be utilised to represent an extra-ordinary threat, capable of carrying radioactive materials, explosives, or even an atomic weapon.

Or could it even be used as a "bomber" to drop a mass of bombs carrying biological weapons?

It could just be coincidence but, on April 12th, French scientists reported the loss of significant amounts of the SARS virus. A routine inventory at the prestigious French research body Institut Pasteur in Paris revealed that around 2,300 tubes vials of the potentially deadly SARS virus have gone missing. The Institut maintained that there was no cause for alarm and that the samples have no infectious potential due to previous storage issues; they did not, however, offer an explanation as to how the tubes of the virus went missing.

"The theory of human error is the most probable, but we are not ruling anything out," said Christian Bréchot the director general of the institute.
SARS, or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, killed over 775 people in an outbreak during the early 2000s; it typically kills around 10 percent of those infected. There was speculation that it could have been developed as a biological weapon, though its sensitivity to heat makes it an unlikely choice for use with any type of explosive.

The timing of the disappearance, coming so shortly after the loss of Flight MH370, has now led to speculation that the two events could be connected.

To add weight to the terrorist attack theory , news of the missing virus also preceded reports of the largest al Qaeda gathering observed in years. Apparently, the CIA and the Pentagon had no prior knowledge of the meeting, and no military action was taken.

"The U.S. intelligence community should be surprised that such a large group of al Qaeda assembled together, including the leadership, and somehow they didn't notice," commented Peter Bergen, CNN national security analyst.

The video, which is now being analyzed by the United States, is alleged to be genuine and shows al Qaeda's crown prince, Nasir al-Wuhayshi, appearing to greet supporters in an open meeting in Yemen. In a speech to his followers, Al-Wuhayshi, the No. 2 leader of al Qaeda globally and the head of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, declares that he wants to attack the United States, saying:

"We must eliminate the cross. ... The bearer of the cross is America!"

Bergen warned:"The main problem about this group is that it has a bomb maker who can put bombs on to planes that can't be detected."

The bomb maker is known to be Ibrahim al-Asiri, who is already believed to be responsible for several attack attempts against the United States.
U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, admitted that leaks tied to Yemen have affected U.S. intelligence collection, but didn't say whether U.S. intelligence knew about the meeting.

As retired Gen. Mark Kimmitt commented when given the news: "The question isn't why didn't we know," he said. "The question is: What are we going to do about it?"

So, are these events just coincidences, or are the pieces of a potentially hazardous jigsaw puzzle coming together? Could any of these events be tied to the disappearance of Flight MH370, indicating that it could have been stolen for use in a major terrorist attack? This is all pure speculation or course, but in the absence of any evidence to sthe contrary we must hope that governments worldwide are considering this and all other possibilities, particularly those with such seriously harmful potential. With the anniversary of Osama Bin Laden's death on May 2nd fast approaching, there may not be much time to contemplate the theory.

At this point, there is no evidence to suggest that these events are in fact linked to the disappearance of the missing aircraft, or at least, none has been released. That the plane might in fact be implicated in a forthcoming terror attack is almost too terrible to contemplate, and, until the mystery is solved - for better or worse - we can only hope fervently that this is not the case. The whereabouts and fate of the 239 unfortunate souls on board flight MH370 are still uppermost in our minds and, while there is still hope, we must continue to pray for their safe return.

For more fascinating insights into this story, subscribers can listen to a special interview this weekend on Unknown Country, hosted by Whitley Strieber with guests Linda Moulton-Howe and Captain Mark Woods.

The dangerous potential of the missing plane as a terrorist bomb that could be directed towards any major city in the world will be discussed in chilling detail; so far, Unknown Country is the only media outlet to be considering this very real possibility.

i just thought of something truly horrid upon almost finishing this article. what if the plane travelers are all alive and this undetected bomb is put on the plane with the people and flown into US airspace telling us they have a bomb on board and to either let it land or else. What would the US do?

Not that I ascribe to this theory, but I did have a frightening thought: What if the US and/or its allies _were_ able to track the plane and its communications, and know that it was hijacked, and that it is still in one piece...but we don't know where? Might that indicate that we are looking for it and want to keep the story out of the public's eye while they frantically search? Maintaining the facade that the plane has crashed might allow the hijackers to feel they have "gotten away with it" and not rush an attack, all the while our armed forces are searching furiously for it. Again, I sincerely do not believe that this is the case, but I am willing to have an open mind that it is possible... This is so strange a case that I cannot rule it out...

“Could it be that the United States shot down Flight MH370, either accidentally or deliberately, and now wants to keep it secret?” queries Chuckman

This is complete BUNK. Why is the US always the boogieman? Use some semblance of brains and IF IF IF this plane was (insert reason here) shot down it would more likely be by the Chinese (past history?) or any other regional country. PLEASE if you're gonna provide speculation give at least ONE reason the author (IE Mr Chuckman) thinks it has any merit.

Personally I agree the entire handling of this flight screams of engineered incompetence and a cover up. All I ask is if you're gonna make a charge, provide some evidence.

I wish to propose anther possible scenario. What if the pilot was acting in revenge as to how China treats its Muslims. Recall the mini van that blew up in front of Tiananmen Square? The pilot would constantly see the rich Communist in first class every time he used the restroom. He ditched the plane in a way that would not have China retaliate against Malaysia. He was tired of seeing first hand all the pollution that China spews into the air and sea. Did you know that most millionaires and billionaires are Communist Party members? This might have been the only way to get the higher ups in a way that would not bring on a war.
BTW it is time to call on your Remote Viewer contacts Whitley. I know they have already been put to task on this mystery. How about the female twins that are very good with their gift of ESP, sorry I can not recall their names. I too suggest those who live in target cities be out of town this May 2nd. Though now its been publicized they might wait a bit till our guard is down a bit.

According to a certain fairly well-known New Age blogger, a 777 was caught headed for the Hague during a U.N. meeting, March 24, and forced to redirect its flight by fighter planes. Just passing the info on...

So far, none of the rumors, such as the 777 headed for the Hague story or the Diego Garcia story, have been supported by any hard evidence. However, the NSA has just refused an FOIA request saying that it has information about the flight that is "properly classified." Also, the Malaysian government has released only transcripts of the ATC exchanges, not the actual recordings. But why not? Is it because something is said on the recordings that isn't present in the transcripts? There would seem to be no other reason to withhold them. This is a damnable and extremely unusual case. I hope that the explanation involves a crash of some sort, as tragic as that is. But I do worry that something else is wrong here, the more so now that we know that both the Malaysians and the NSA are withholding information.
