Using a remote sensing technique known as LIDAR, for Light Detection and Ranging, a team of US scientists has reconstructed the topography of Mosquitia, a remote region in Honduras that has long been overgrown by the rainforest, revealing what appears to be manmade elevation changes. These could be an ancient city with an overgrown plaza surrounded by pyramids. It could be the legendary Ciudad Blanca, the long-sought city of gold.
