A new threat of a possible terrorist attack against the domestic United States has been uncovered by investigators. Attorney General John Ashcroft has described this threat as 'credible,' and has issued a terrorist threat advisory to law enforcement entities around the country.
He has asked all persons who observe what they regard as unusual circumstances or inappropriate behavior to the proper authorities.
Additional security measures are being taken by the INS, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the FAA and others.
Homeland Security Director Ridge has informed the governors of all fifty states to take appropriate security measures as appropriate to the situations in their individual states.
No specific information about the possible nature of the attack has been offered. It is believed that the possible attack could take place over the next week.
