UFO investigators, journalists, authors, former military
officers and other experts will gather at the National UFO
Conference at the end of October to present their most
recent findings into the question of unidentified flying
objects.
Among the guests at this years conference is Air Force First
Lt. Robert Salas, a former missile launch officer
responsible for nuclear warheads stored at Malmstrom AFB.
He describes an incident in 1967 in which a glowing,
oval-shaped object hovered over the base and disabled
approximately 20 nuclear warheads housed in an underground
bunker.
Other guests will examine recent scientific research into
unidentified aerial phenomena and present formerly
classified government documents illustrating that contrary
to its official position, the U.S. government takes the UFO
phenomenon very seriously.
According to a 2002 Roper Poll, two-thirds of the American
public believe the U.S. government is withholding
information about UFOs. Trained observers, including
pilots, air traffic controllers, radar operators, astronauts
and military personnel have reported spectacular unknown
objects visually, photographically, and electronically.
Some of these objects have even left physical evidence
behind which has been studied scientifically.
The U.S. government maintains that UFOs do not constitute a
national security threat, but it has also kept most UFO
related information hidden from the public.
The 2004 National UFO Conference (NUFOC) takes place in
Hollywood, California and runs October 29th - 31st.
