Chinese scientists have found a pyramid-shaped relic that
local legends say was left by visitors from space. The
structure is 165-198 feet tall and is on top of Mount Baigong.
It has three caves with triangular openings on its front and is
filled with reddish-brown pipes leading into the mountain
and to a nearby salt water lake. The middle cave can still be
entered, although the two smaller caves have collapsed.
Remnants of the pipes are scattered over the area, along
with strangely-shaped rocks. The area is hard to get to and
uninhabited.
Some of these remains were taken to a lab for analysis,
where it was found that 8% of the material could not be
identified. Liu Shaolin, the engineer who did the analysis,
says, "A result of long interaction between iron and
sandstone means the pipes must be very old."
Scientist Yang Ji understands the ET hypothesis and
says, "But scientific means must be employed to prove
whether or not it is true."
Two countries have had UFO sightings recently. Sri Lanka
has had several UFO flyovers. One of the glimmering objects
was first seen by a farmer and then by several others in the
area including a television journalist.
The UFO was around for nearly a week and the Sri Lankan Air
Force eventually launched an investigation. A team of
astrophysicists from the University of Colombo are also
trying to determine what the object was.
Residents who live in an area outside the capital of Santiago,
Chile have seen so many UFOs that Mayor Miguel Marquez
has declared the region an official UFO tourism zone. He
plans to erect two observation centers and place markers
where there have been sightings.
"This zone is the UFO capital of Chile," says Marquez. "Many
people have made sightings, including me personally. I'm
not going to say I've seen aliens. But I've seen objects."
Marquez has had 2 UFO sightings.
A typical sighting in the area is like the one described by
Jose Ruben Guajardo. On
March 26 at 4:30 a.m. he was riding in a truck near the San
Jose volcano when he saw a huge lighted orange object
coming towards the truck. He says it looked like a giant fish
with antennas. "I didn't tell anyone because no one would
believe it. My wife told me I was lying," Guajardo says. "It
was with us for about half a minute to a minute, then we lost
sight of it. Before that, I'd only seen them at a distance, but
this one was real close."
